HOUSTON MAYOR OFFICE OF MOBILITY

The Office of Mobility was started by Mayor Bill White when he took office at the begining of 2004 in an effort to address mobility problems in Houston. The mission statement for this office is to provide short term solutions for long term problems. This means we are charged with finding inexpensive solutions now. David Saperstein, Chairman of the Office of Mobility, began by assembling a team who works to resolve issues presented by the citizens of Houston at no cost to the citizens of Houston.

The Office of Mobility not only handles the complaints and suggestions, which can be sent to us through the Contact Us link to your lower left or at the top of this page, but also initiates solutions on our own. We have created and passed six ordinances desigend make traffic run more effeciently. In addition to this, we continue to examine problems and determine how best to solve them. This hands on style has always been the vision of Mayor White and will continue to be enacted by the Office of Mobility.

The citizens of Houston are an invaluable resource to the productivity of this office. No one knows the mobility problems in an area as well as the people that live and drive here everyday. We feel that the suggestions presented to us by these people provide us with the best oportunity to affect quality change. Beyond that, we feel this is how a city government should run. The Mayor has brought to this city a responsivness, which we take pride in and feel it is our duty to promote. Again, please contact us with any and all suggestions.
